As per the National Family Health Survey of 2016, 47% of the poor children and 30% rich are not fully immunised in India. Poorly immunised children are more prone to preventable diseases.

Every year 5 lakh children die due to vaccine-preventable diseases. The reasons include vaccine hesitancy, poverty, illiteracy, access to health care and even the birth order of the children.
