India has been ranked 102 out of 117 qualifying countries in the recently released Global Health Index 2019. According to the GHI, the country score of hunger is 30.3. The score reflects the “serious” hunger situation of the country. In GHI, four parameters — undernourishment, child wasting, child stunting and child mortality are taken into account. And India has the highest rate of child wasting at 20.8%, while child stunting at 37.9%
