The first dog squad of Maharashtra was established in Mumbai in the 1960s. It is attached to the city’s crime branch where there are 7 dogs currently – a combination of labradors, dobermans and Belgian malinois. The Belgian malinois, however is a new addition to the squad. The 6 month old puppies are currently undergoing training in Alwar, Rajasthan.
